Sleek Makeup Blush By 3...

I will start by saying that I really LOVE the Sleek Makeup Blushes, personally I think they are just as good if not better than a lot of the high end expensive ones that I own, and they are always a permanent fixture in my makeup bag!

These 'blush BY 3' palettes have been out a while now, when they were released I was very interested in trying them but they were always sold out of the colours I wanted my in local Superdrug, then I guess I just forgot about them all together!

So when I was watching my usual YouTube beauty videos and I saw Zoella mention these palettes, I immediately started looking online to see where I could purchase them (My local Superdrug no longer has Sleek Makeup, how very rude!!)...

Anyway I ended up buying the one called 'Lace' as the palette contains oranges and corals which are perfect for summer!

(L-R Chantilly, Guipure, Crochet)

The colours are all named after types of lace (If that wasn't already obvious by the name of the palette...)

Chantilly is a matte orange shade which may look unwearable at first glance but if you use a small amount it looks lovely and summery and really brightens your complexion!

Guipure is a peachy pink shade with gold shimmer, it is VERY similar to the famous NARS 'Orgasm' blush (Yes, that is the name of it... very naughty ha!) I swatched both side by side and there is very little difference (see below)! So a great cheaper alternative as the NARS blush on its own costs £21.50!

(Sleek 'Guipure' on the left, NARS 'Orgasm' on the right)

Crochet is a bright matte coral shade which again when used sparingly creates a pretty summery flush!

To apply these I literally just touch my blusher brush on the powder then swirl my brush in the lid/mirror to evenly coat the brush with product and apply in light circular motions to the apples of my cheeks! I've been loving mixing the orange and coral shade together with just a dab of each, then I've been using Guipure to highlight the tops of my cheekbones and a touch on my brow bone!
(I use the Real Techniques Contour brush to apply blush, just FYI)

I think this is a fantastic product, all of the colours in this particular palette work really well together and I am definitely looking forward to trying another colour variation! I will say that the matte shades are a touch too powdery, but this does not affect the quality at all, the colours are still very pigmented, you just need to make sure you tap off the excess before applying it!
I also love the packaging very minimalistic and ermmm... well, Sleek? And it's great that it comes with a mirror too, perfect for travelling!

Completely worth £10 in my opinion!
I bought mine off Ebay for the same price but most larger Superdrug stores sell Sleek Makeup!

Maybelline Baby Lips...

The Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms have been out in the USA for a while now and they are always raved about over there...
So, when they were finally released in the UK a few weeks ago I was so excited to try them, I am a massive lover of lip balms as I ALWAYS have dry lips, and I always find it a bonus when they combine lip balms with a hint of colour!
So already, before I had even tried them, they were looking like they were going to be right up my alley!

Unfortunately, when I went into my local Boots and Superdrug they did not have them in yet, so I decided to order them from the Boots online website as they were on 3 for 2!
I am already thinking I will be going back to buy the other 3 as I can't bear to not have the full set!

(L-R Mint Fresh, Peach Kiss, Pink Punch)

In the collection there are three colourless formulas and three tinted formulas, as you can see I chose two colours and one colourless, they claim to give intense care, 8 hour hydration and nourishing for baby soft lips... they are all priced at £2.99 each.

Mint Fresh...  This is one of the colourless versions which includes SPF20, it has a lovely subtle mint scent and leaves a slight tingle on the lips when first applied, the formula feels really hydrating and comfortable on the lips, which is obviously very important in a lip balm! So, thumbs up so far!

Peach Kiss... This is supposedly one of the tinted versions, however, on my lips it does not show up as having any colour, just a slight sparkle, so I'm not as impressed with this one! The formula also does not seem quite as hydrating and soothing as the colourless ones!

Pink Punch...  Again this is one of the tinted versions, it leaves a subtle light pink colour to the lips which is really nice for during the day, as with Peach Kiss, the formula is not as hydrating as the colourless ones. But I think I can forgive that seen as the colour is so pretty!

So, mixed feelings about these...
It seems to me that the colourless formulas are more moisturising plus they have the added bonus of including SPF20, so they are a great choice if you are looking for a good lip balm.
I was slightly disappointed with the colour Peach Kiss as it seemed to have virtually no colour payoff other than a bit of sparkle.
But, I do really like Pink Punch, I think this will get the most use out of the bunch, I just really wish they had made it as moisturising and included SPF like the colourless formulas!!

I will probably pick up the other three just to make my mind up properly about them... Overall I think they are well priced and great for the money but I do still prefer my Apivita Lip Balm/ Tints as they are just that little bit more hydrating! (I included these in my February Favs here).

Thanks for reading :)

The 30 Day Shred...

I recently bought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred as I had heard a lot of good things about it and I've been on a little bit of a health kick lately so I thought why not give it a try!

I don't particularly want to lose masses of weight I am more aiming to tone up and strengthen my muscles (and secretly hoping for a six pack... ha)

The DVD consists of 3 levels, for the first 10 days you do level 1, followed by level 2 for the next 10 days, then level 3 for the final 10 days, each level gets progressively more difficult.
The workout itself is 20 minute long and is based around Jillian's 3-2-1 interval system (3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio and 1 minute abs) this is apparently the best way to start seeing results quickly!

The workouts are supposed to be completed everyday for 30 days, but I also like to go to the gym so I just do this on the days in between the gym (that's not cheating, right?), but I guess if you were really hardcore you could do both in a day?!

What will you need?

All you need is the DVD (obviously...) I bought mine from Amazon for £5
A set of hand weights, I use 2kg weights, but if you are a complete beginner I would maybe opt for a lighter weight, such as 1kg, as the workout includes quite a lot of repetitions.
Lastly an exercise/ yoga mat, I bought my weights and mat from Argos so it worked out quite cheap!
But if you are on a tight budget I guess you could manage without using a mat, as long as you're not on a hard floor, and you could substitute the weights for two tins of beans or something?! Be imaginative!

First Impressions...

I've only done 3 days worth so far and alternated the days with the gym! But I am really liking it and I tell you what it must be working because I'm aching all over! God help me when I have to move on to the next levels!
I also really like how the workout is structured and I think Jillian is really motivational so it makes you want to push through even when you feel like you just want to collapse in a heap on the floor!

So, I would definitely recommend this to anyone, no matter what your fitness levels are, the good thing about it is that each of the exercises can be modified depending on your ability.
It's also great for fitting into a busy lifestyle as it's pretty easy to find 20 mins in your day, and it can be done in the comfort of your own home!

Hope some of you have found this helpful/ useful, I've had quite a few people ask me about it lately so I thought it would be good to pop it into a blog post...
I'll keep you updated :)

P.S. I am also trying to eat a little bit healthier too as I think that is going to be the best way to see results, as your diet and exercise do go hand in hand. For me this is more of a lifestyle change more than anything, I think it's best to commit to eating healthier in general, rather than doing Fad diets, as they're rarely effective long term and it can't be good for your body to crash diet!

Bourjois Colour Boost Glossy Lipstick...

Over the past couple of weeks I've picked up a few little bits of makeup from Boots and Superdrug, most of which are new releases, so here is the first post of what could be many...

These Color Boost Glossy Lipstick's are Bourjois' newest addition, and I can't help but think that they look a lot like the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains (see my review here) and the Clinique Chubby Sticks, in that the packaging is almost identical, and the product has the same crayon shape.
However, the formula itself isn't really the same at all, these are much more sheer and glossy, more like a tinted lip balm rather than a lipstick! I bought 3 because they were on 3 for 2, and I OBVIOUSLY couldn't just buy one! There are only 4 colours in the collection at the moment, the other colour was a cherry red called Red Sunshine (which I may have to pick up shortly, as I can't have it feeling left out can I?!).

(L-R Peach on the Beach, Orange Punch, Fuchsia Libre)

I actually quite like that these are semi opaque as it make them very wearable when you want something nice and easy to throw on in this warm weather! I also think the colour range is great and very summer appropriate, so Bourjois definitely gets top marks for all that! The formula is lovely and moisturising with a glossy finish, but it's not sticky at all, and there is also the added bonus of SPF 15 to protect your lips.

However, despite the 10 hour claim, on me they are not particularly long lasting, with maybe two hours wear before it needed reapplying. The colour does tend to stay on a lot better around the edges of the lips but after a few hours a lot of the colour disappears off the inner part, but that could just be me!
I don't mind reapplying lipstick every now and again so it's not a massive bug bear for me, but for those people that like to apply lipstick in the morning and have it stay put all day, this is probably not the product for you!

The peachy pink shade doesn't really suit my colouring but it is still a lovely colour none the less! The other colours, however, are gorgeous and I've been loving wearing them for a pop of colour during the day...

They are £7.99 and currently on 3 for 2 in Boots so I would definitely recommend checking them out!!
